Agency Offers Communications Support to ‘Accelerate Action’ this International Women’s Day
To mark International Women’s Day, Channel Islands PR and communications agency, Black Vanilla, will be offering pro bono training to a selected female entrepreneur in both Guernsey and Jersey.
The agency is inviting pre- launch or early stage female-founded businesses to apply. Applicants must have a clear business concept and a documented business plan and submit their applications by 1stApril.
Selected entrepreneurs will receive expert-led training, covering the critical skills to help build a strong brand and media presence, including social media strategy training, copywriting, Canva design skills, media relations and personal brand development.
Black Vanilla Agency Director, Nichole Culverwell, said: ‘We have been inspired by this year’s International Women’s Day theme – ‘accelerate action’, and wanted to make a commitment that would have genuine impact.
‘In considering what action to take, we learnt that female founders are less likely to secure funding for their business than their male counterparts; there is a significant funding gap. Closing this gap could add value to our economy and create inspiring role models for future female entrepreneurs.
‘We want all new enterprises to get the best possible start; effective PR and marketing can make a real difference in how a brand is positioned and perceived. We know many entrepreneurs have fantastic ideas and strong business models, but getting the right visibility and traction in the early stages can be a challenge.
‘Through this initiative, we want to give female founders the confidence and practical skills to tell their business’s story, share their message, connect with their audience and establish a brand that might help them to attract vital funding and will support long-term success.’
Each member of the Black Vanilla team will contribute their expertise through this initiative.
